During two years, Russia destroyed 280 objects of the port infrastructure of Ukraine
Russian attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine are systemic in nature and could lead to starvation for a million people.
This opinion was expressed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the conference “United for Justice. Accountability for the Attacks against Civilian Objects”.
“The destruction of grain terminals and port infrastructure causes economic losses and threatens global food security, so protecting Ukrainian ports means saving millions of people from hunger,” Zelenskyy said.
The issue of Russia’s destruction of grain terminals and port infrastructure was also discussed at the forum.
So, over the past two years, Russia destroyed 280 port infrastructure facilities, more than 150 vehicles, 17 civilian ships, including more than 100,000 tons of grain cargo.
“One year ago, Ukraine launched a maritime corridor. Despite the constant shelling of the port infrastructure by the enemy, this corridor did not stop its work. During this time, the ports handled 2,523 ships and handled more than 68 million tons of cargo, of which 46 million tons of agricultural products were exported to more than 46 countries around the world,” added Serhiy Derkach, Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
USM previously reported that on September 12, the Russians hit a ship with grain in Odesa region with a missile.
