Egypt purchased 120,000 tons of wheat from Ukraine
The Egyptian state customer GASC purchased 290,000 tons of Black Sea wheat, exclusively with Ukrainian grain.
Egypt’s state agency GASC bought 290,000 tons of Black Sea wheat at a tender on November 4. This was reported by ASAP Agri.
The concluded contracts cover deliveries of Bulgarian, Ukrainian and Romanian wheat at different prices and shipment conditions.
In particular, the African country contracted 50,000 tons of Bulgarian wheat at a price of 273 USD/t C&F for shipment between November 25 and December 5. This price is USD 13.76/t higher than the price paid in the previous tender on August 12.
Also, GASC purchased 120,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat at a price of 275.25 USD/t C&F with delivery from December 6 to 15, which is 6 USD/t more expensive compared to previous purchases. Egypt purchased another 120,000 tons of grain from Romania at a price of USD 275.30/t C&F, with similar delivery terms.
As USM recently wrote, the Russian Federation delayed the delivery of half a million tons of wheat to Egypt. This fact raised doubts about the reliability of Russian suppliers.
