Employees of the port of Chornomorsk will be transfered to the new operator after the concession, — Kuleba

The concession of the port of Chornomorsk will not lead to job cuts, and all current employees will transfer to the concessionaire with salaries preserved and without layoffs.
This was stated by the Minister for Development of Communites and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba in an interview with Ukrinform.
In particular, the minister emphasized that the issue of preserving jobs for the Ministry of Reconstruction “is of principle, since the people who kept the port under missiles will not become hostages of any reforms.”
Kuleba added that the terms of the concession fix social guarantees, thus, 1,240 port workers will transfer to the new operator, without reducing salaries and with indexation in accordance with inflation. In addition, a collective agreement will be concluded for at least five years.
“During this period, there will be no forced layoffs. I would like to emphasize separately: trade unions are not suspended. They are included in the composition of the tender commission and participate in forming the terms of the agreement and will monitor their implementation,” Kuleba noted.
According to the minister, if during the preparation of the tender documentation there is a need to clarify or strengthen social guarantees, this will be done.
