In the new package of sanctions, the EU is also considering new measures against Russia’s “shadow fleet”, oil traders in third countries and a possible ban on reinsurance of tankers carrying Russian oil.

This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.

The European Union, as part of the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, plans measures against several banks, energy companies, payment systems, crypto exchanges and oil trading, the publication notes.

In addition to new sanctions against sanctioned tankers and oil traders, the package may include sanctions against ports that accept tankers with Russian oil.

The 19th package may also include a ban on the export of goods and chemicals that Russia uses for the military industry, as well as sanctions against foreign companies, in particular from China, that supply these goods.

The EU intends to coordinate some of its measures with the United States. This week, an EU delegation will travel to Washington for talks with American colleagues on joint action.USM previously reported that Russia is creating “Orthodox” software for ports due to sanctions.
