EU has published quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products until the end of 2025

The new duty-free export volumes will come into effect on June 6 — they will be applied within the framework of the updated free trade zone regime.

The European Commission has approved limits for duty-free imports of Ukrainian agricultural products, which will be valid from June 6, 2025 until the end of the year. The corresponding decision was published the official EU website within the framework of the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA).

The largest quotas are set for three main crops:

• wheat, flour and meslin — 1,000,000 tons (within the general regime), or 583,333 tons — according to the so-called “7/12 formula”,

• corn — 650,000 tons / 379,167 tons,

• barley — 350,000 tons / 204,167 tons.

The “7/12” formula provides for the calculation of quotas in proportion to the period from June to December (7 out of 12 months of the year), which corresponds to the term of the current regulation. It is it that determines the actual limits of duty-free exports for the second half of 2025.

The decision was made within the framework of the general package of temporary autonomous trade measures of the EU to support the Ukrainian agricultural sector. At the same time, it also takes into account the protective mechanisms for European farmers introduced by the European Commission.

The day before, USM reported that the EU extended trade preferences for Ukrainian steel for another three years.
