Explosions heard near Russian Navy plant in Kaspiysk

Explosions were heard in Kaspiysk near a plant producing underwater weapons and engines for the Russian Navy.

On Monday, December 1, residents of Kaspiysk reported explosions near the Dagdizel military plant, writes Militarnyi.

In turn, the head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, reported that the drone attack was “successfully repelled.”

The Dagdizel plant (“Plant No. 182”) is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Dagestan, specializing in the production of underwater weapons, diesel engines, pumps, and other products for the Russian Navy.

As of today, Dagdizel is part of the Morskoye podvodnoye oruzhe — Gidropribor concern and remains a key manufacturer of torpedoes and other equipment for the Russian Navy.

It should be noted that in April 2025, the media reported the collapse of the roof of the eighth workshop of the plant, which was used for testing naval weapons, in particular steam-gas torpedoes.
