Export duty on soybeans and rapeseed allowed us to maintain support for farmers in wartime conditions, — Ministry of Economy

Export duties on soybeans and rapeseed were discussed during a meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Committee in a trade warehouse.

On December 2, the tenth annual meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Committee in a trade warehouse (CATS) was held in Brussels, the Ministry of Economy reported.

During the meeting, issues regarding the export duty on soybeans and rapeseed introduced by Ukraine were considered, in particular.

Ukraine informed its partners that it introduced a 10% export duty on soybeans and rapeseed this year to support the development of agro-processing within the country. At the same time, agricultural producers who export their own products are completely exempted from paying the duty. Thus, the introduced mechanism does not create additional financial costs for them, the Ministry of Economy stated.

“It is through the receipt of export duties on soybeans and rapeseed that the state will replenish a special budget fund from which agricultural producer support programs are financed. First of all, programs for frontline areas, as well as grants for processing, greenhouses, gardens, compensation for agricultural machinery, war risk insurance and other key tools. This allows us to maintain support for farmers even in war conditions,” commented Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukrainian farmers will file claims for reimbursement of export duties on rapeseed.
