Export of agricultural products from the sea ports of Ukraine decreased by 78% in a week

From May 15 to May 21, 2023, 118.3 thousand tons of agricultural products were exported through the sea ports of the Odesa region, which is 78% less than in the previous week.

Last week, 4 vessels were loaded in Ukrainian seaports, which is 9 units less than in the previous week, the press service of the Ukrainian Agrarian Business Club reported. UCAB explains that these vessels are loaded, but have not yet passed the necessary inspection to continue moving further to customers and are waiting for it. According to the association, this is the lowest download rate this year.

In addition, since the resumption of the “grain corridor”, only 11 vessels have passed inspection at the entrance, which is a very low indicator, taking into account the significant queue of vessels at the entrance.

During the 42nd week of operation of the “grain corridor”, the most exported were:

• corn (78% of exports during this period);

• sunflower cake (17%);

• wheat (6%).

Ukrainian products were sent to the following countries: Asia (Saudi Arabia, Turkey), Africa (Morocco) and Europe (Italy).

In total, from the start of the “grain corridor” from August 1, 2022 to May 21, 2023, Ukraine exported 30.3 million tons of agricultural products.
