Exports of goods from Ukraine exceeded $3.6 billion in March

Total exports of Ukrainian goods in March 2025 exceeded the figures for February of this year by 18%.

The total volume of exports for the first quarter of 2025 amounted to almost $9.9 billion. This was reported by the Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka.

Despite the decrease in export indicators in the first two months of the year, positive dynamics were achieved in March due to an increase in supplies of agricultural products, iron ore and metallurgical products.

In particular, exports of pig iron increased by more than 13.4 times, adding $110 million. Exports of sunflower seeds increased by 11.5 times (+$15.9 million). Supplies of sunflower oil increased by 39.2% (+$141.6 million), and oilcake by 80.3% (+$35.8 million). This allowed increasing the physical volume of exports to 9.98 million tons.

At the same time, in March, exports by sea transport increased by 24.7% in monetary terms and by 17% in weight – compared to the indicators for February 2025.

Taras Kachka emphasized the importance of increasing the monetary value of Ukrainian exports, despite the decrease in physical weight. Thus, in March 2024, Ukraine exported 11.9 million tons worth $3.46 billion, and this year – 9.9 million tons worth $3.62 billion. This indicates a gradual increase in the share of goods with higher added value, which is evidence of the successful development of the Ukrainian processing industry.

Ukraine exported the most in terms of value:

• corn – $514.4 million (2.4 million tons);

• sunflower oil – $503 million (441 thousand tons);

wheat – $253.9 million (1.1 million tons);

• iron ore — $238.4 million (2.9 million tons);

• soybeans — $150.2 million (369.2 thousand tons);

• insulated wires — $124.6 million (6.5 thousand tons);

• cast iron — $118.9 million (300.9 thousand tons).

Among the main trading partners of Ukraine in March were Poland ($407.7 million), Turkey ($294.3 million), Italy ($231.8 million), Germany ($196.3 million), China ($189.4 million) and Spain ($185.7 million).

The European Union remained the largest trading partner, with exports in March amounting to $2.04 billion, which is 6.1% more than in February 2025.

The day before, USM wrote that Donald Trump had imposed tariffs against Ukraine and other countries.
