In Bulgaria, farmers blocked roads across the country due to the parliament’s decision not to extend the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.

On Monday, September 19, farmers and owners of processing enterprises in Bulgaria brought out heavy machinery in protest, reports Forbes Bulgaria.

Farmers are unhappy with the decision of the parliament, which decided not to continue emergency measures banning the import of wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower seeds from Ukraine after September 15.

Due to mass protests, a number of roads across the country are blocked – border crossings, main roads and highways.

It should be noted that representatives of 26 industry organizations have announced an indefinite nationwide protest. They demand the continuation of the ban on the import of sunflower, wheat, corn and rapeseed from Ukraine, as well as the introduction of a ban on the import of unrefined oil, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, live animals, honey and beekeeping products from Ukraine.
