Finland announced suspicion of the captain of the Russian vessel

Finland announced suspicion against the captain of the ship “Mikhail Kazansky”, which entered the country’s waters.

As part of the investigation, suspicion was announced to the captain of the vessel “Mikhail Kazansky”, which entered the waters of the country on July 26, the Coast Guard of Finland reported.

The agency stressed that they tried to contact the vessel when it entered Finnish territorial waters, but without success. A Finnish patrol boat had to intercept the vessel and take it out of the country’s waters.

It also turned out that on the day of the incident, ships of the coast guard of the Gulf of Finland and several civilian vessels observed GPS interference.

It will be recalled that a Russian research vessel is suspected of violating Finland’s maritime borders. The incident took place in the Eastern part of the Gulf of Finland.

USM previously reported that Russia plans to unilaterally change the maritime borders with Lithuania and Finland.
