Finland joins maritime coalition to support Ukrainian Navy

The Minister of Defense of Finland emphasized that the country’s participation in the coalition is a thoughtful step aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

Finland has officially joined the Maritime Coalition, led by the United Kingdom and Norway, to strengthen support for the development of the Ukrainian Navy. This is reported by Yle.

“Finland joins the coalitions after a thorough analysis of each case so that our contribution is effective and brings clear added value to the development of Ukrainian military capabilities,” said Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkinen.

Recall that the Maritime Coalition is one of the flagship initiatives within the Capability Coalitions format, created by Ukraine’s partners to develop key defense sectors. Its goal is to support the Ukrainian Navy, in particular in restoring the fleet, building infrastructure, training crews and strengthening security in the Black Sea.
