Floating dock sank at the shipyard in Sevastopol

A floating dock sank at the Persei ship repair plant in occupied Sevastopol.

On the night of June 21, the small floating dock “PD-19” of the Sevastopol Ship Repair Plant “Persei” sank. The pilot boat, which was in the dock for repairs, also went under the water, reports “Military”.

This is not the first case of flooding of “PD-19” during its operation. So, on December 16, 1977, during the ascent, the dock broke in half and sank at a depth of 13 meters.

Reference: The floating dock was built in Bulgaria back in 1941. In 1944, it entered the Black Sea Fleet under the index “PD-19”. According to the results of the division of the Black Sea Fleet in 1997, the floating dock went to the Russian side. However, already in 2016, the dock was excluded from the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and handed over to the Persei shipyard. During 2017-2018, “PD-19” underwent regular repairs.
