Former Minister of Agricultural Policy was given a preventive measure in the grain fraud case

The investigation considers former Minister Mykola Solsky to be the organizer of a scheme to sell 7 thousand tons of non-existent corn.
Former Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention. This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
An alternative is a bail of UAH 63.7 million.
According to the investigation, on the eve of Solskyi, as the organizer of the scheme, as well as two co-organizers and executors, were informed of suspicion of fraud on a particularly large scale.
Investigators claim that the suspects tried to sell 7 thousand tons of corn, which in fact did not exist, using forged warehouse documents. According to law enforcement officers, on paper the elevator was filled with the crop, while in reality it remained empty.
According to the Prosecutor General, the amount of the bail corresponds to the full amount of losses caused to the injured party and confirmed by an examination.
Regarding two more defendants in the case – the director of the agricultural enterprise and its technical manager – a petition was also filed with the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention or bail in the same amount – 63.7 million UAH for each.
Earlier, USM wrote that the rate of grain exports from Ukraine remains 23% lower than last year.
