Freight rates in the Black and Azov seas are increasing


During the last week, freight rates from the ports of the Azov-Black Sea and Danube regions have increased slightly.

Thus, freight rates from the Black Sea ports increased by $0.95 per ton, compared to the previous week, to $26.14/ton. At the same time, freight rates in the Sea of Azov fell by $0.73/ton to $37.49/ton. This is stated in the International Seaborne Market report.

Rates for shipment by “Panamax” from the Black Sea fell to $23.89/ton. The freight rates of “handy sizes” and “supramaxes” decreased to $25.36/ton.

The cost of sending 5-6 thousand tons of wheat or corn from Reni to Beirut (Lebanon) or Mersin (Turkey) over the last week has increased by $4 per ton — up to $42/ton.
