Freight rates in the Black Sea fell due to lower export rates

The reason for the decrease in ship freight rates in the ports of the Danube and Great Odesa was the shortage of cargo.

The decrease in the rate of Ukrainian exports due to the low level of balances led to a drop in freight rates. This was reported by Spike Brokers.

In particular, the shortage of cargo affected the decrease in the cost of freight on barges. Thus, the cost of delivering goods to Constanta reaches 10 euros per ton, to Ruse/Silistra – 16 euros per ton.

Rates for “burners” decreased by $1-3 per ton in all directions. Panamax freight from the ports of Great Odesa to South China and Vietnam has become cheaper by $1-$2 per ton.

Rates for the transportation of cargo by “handy sizes” to the eastern Mediterranean decreased by $2 per ton, to Tunisia and Spain by $1 per ton, the cost of transportation to eastern Italy remains stable.

Market rates of transportation from river ports:

• in the direction of Constanta — 10-11 euros;

• to the ports of Ruse/Silistra — 15-16 euros;

• to Marmara (Turkey) — 18-19 dollars;

• in the direction of Israel (5-7 thousand tons) — 31-32 dollars.

Market rates for transportation from Chornomorsk are:

• to the Eastern Mediterranean — 25-26 dollars;

• in the direction of Tunisia — 34-35 dollars;

• in the direction of China — 54-56 dollars.

The day before, USM wrote that the sea corridor works stably, but risks due to Russian shelling make exports difficult.
