Freight rates in the Black Sea for the transportation of grain are falling


Transportation of agricultural products from the Danube and Great Odesa ports continues to become cheaper.

Freight rates for the delivery of grain from the Danube and Great Odesa ports continue to decrease. This was reported in UGA.

Thus, as of November 30, the rates for the transportation of 6,000 tons of corn by fire from the ports of Reni and Izmail in the direction of Spain decreased by 4 USD/t — to 41-42 USD/t, Marmara by 3 USD/t — to 27 USD/t, the east coast of Greece by 2-3USD/t — up to 30-32USD/t.

Freight rates to the eastern Mediterranean, the Italian east coast and Spanish Seville fell by USD 2/t to USD 36-38/t, USD 38-40/t and USD 46-48/t, respectively.

The maximum cost of transportation to Israel decreased by 2 USD/t. Minimum rates remained unchanged. Currently, freight to this region is estimated at 43-46 USD/t.

Rates for transporting agricultural products by barge to Constanta remained at the level of last week — 21-22 EUR/t for corn and 40 EUR/t for sunflower.

The freight for the transportation of corn by handsizes decreased by USD 1/t and amounted to USD 39-40/t in the direction of the Mediterranean coast of Egypt. The cost of shipment to Italy is 41-42 USD/t. Freight rates to the Mediterranean coast of Spain reach 43-44 USD/t. Freight to Tunisia is 44-45 USD/t.

At the same time, the freight for the transportation of corn by panamax from Odesa, Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk in the direction of China increased by 3 USD/t — to 75-78 USD/t. Rates to the Mediterranean coast of Spain are 45-47 USD/t.
