Freight traffic by rail to the port of Izmail has dropped to zero

The work of port logistics was affected by the seasonal slowdown in export activity at the end of the marketing year.

This was reported by Spike Brokers.

Thus, the slowdown in export activity significantly affected the work of port logistics, due to which rail loading in the direction of the ports of Great Odesa and Izmail significantly decreased.

As of June 5, the average daily unloading of wagons in the ports of Great Odesa decreased by 282 wagons/day – to 755 wagons/day. At the same time, a significant decrease in the number of wagons heading towards the indicated ports was recorded: during the week this indicator decreased by 1137 wagons – to 2274 units.

In the direction of the port of Izmail, the movement of goods practically stopped – the number of wagons decreased by 59, to zero. The unloading rate of wagons with grain also decreased – by 3 wagons/day, to 17 wagons/day.

Rates on the grain logistics market remain stable, but the situation with railway transportation tariffs keeps the market in a “floating” state, in particular due to the uncertainty of Ukrzaliznytsia’s policy. This creates additional difficulties for concluding long-term agreements, as forecasts for the cost of transport services remain uncertain.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukrzaliznytsia said whether they will build a Eurorail to the port of Reni.
