French Louis Dreyfus sold agricultural holding in Russia

Louis Dreyfus, one of the world’s largest grain traders, has divested itself of its business in Russia.

The amount of the deal is unknown, but it was made at a “large discount,” writes LIGA.net.

The grain company RZ Agro (“Russian Land”), previously co-owned by the Louis-Dreyfus family, has come under the control of the Step agroholding, owned by AFK Sistema.

The French trader stopped exporting Russian grain in 2023 and has since been looking for an opportunity to sell its Russian assets to new owners.

It should be noted that in November 2024, the Kremlin agreed to sell Louis Dreyfus’ Russian assets – a 100% stake in the Russian Grain Elevator Company (Ruselko) – to a company from Saudi Arabia.

As a reminder, in December 2024 it became known that Louis Dreyfus would sell the grain elevator company in Russia.
