Germany will supply anti-aircraft defence to protect the Odesa port

The first promised air defence system Iris-T for the defence of Odesa port will arrive in Ukraine.

German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht visited Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. At a meeting with the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov in Odesa, she inspected the Gepard self-propelled guns, 30 units of which Ukraine has previously received from Germany and announced the delivery of the first ground-based Iris-T air defence system in the coming days, the German publication Welt reports.

This will help protect critical infrastructure and repel russian air attacks. However, additional supplies must be made, and Germany wants to encourage its allies to do so,” said the politician.
