Grain bypassed ports: exports in five days amounted to 268 thousand tons

Since the beginning of the 2026/27 marketing year, Ukraine has shipped 2.357 million tons of grain and leguminous crops abroad.

From July 22 to 27, Ukraine exported 268 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops. This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

As of July 27, total grain exports in the 2026/27 marketing year amounted to 2.357 million tons. Five days earlier, the figure was at the level of 2.089 million tons.

The largest increase during this period was in corn shipments – by 140 thousand tons, to 1.209 million tons.

Wheat exports increased by 127 thousand tons and reached 961 thousand tons. Barley shipments increased by 1 thousand tons – to 183 thousand tons.

For comparison, as of July 30 last year, Ukraine exported 1.297 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. In particular, 613 thousand tons of corn, 487 thousand tons of wheat and 191 thousand tons of barley were shipped abroad.

The low rate of shipments is recorded against the background of the actual cessation of grain shipments through deep-sea seaports after the intensification of Russian attacks on port infrastructure.

Most international traders have suspended purchases on CPT-port terms, and some grain terminals have temporarily stopped working.

Because of this, corn trade is gradually shifting to the western border, and part of wheat flows are being reoriented to Danube ports. At the same time, alternative routes have limited capacity and cannot fully replace transshipment through the ports of Great Odesa.

 The day before, USM reported that farmers had called on Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky to introduce anti-crisis measures to support the industry.
