Grain for Kenya and Ethiopia is loaded in the port of Chornomorsk
Bulk carrier VALSAMITIS will deliver 25,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat to Kenya and 5,000 tons to Ethiopia. Loading works are already underway in Chornomorsk port.
“This is already the fifth vessel within the Grain from Ukraine program. Its purpose is to provide humanitarian Ukrainian wheat to countries suffering from a food crisis. Among such countries are Kenya and Ethiopia, which will receive this batch of wheat thanks to donations from Great Britain, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and the Czech Republic,” the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure said.
In addition, on the morning of Friday, February 17, the Odesa seaport received the bulk carrier Royal Star (Panama flag), which will also transport humanitarian wheat.
Meanwhile, the fourth vessel under the Grain from Ukraine program is being unloaded in the port of Djibouti. Amira Hana bulk carrier delivered 30,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat to Ethiopia.
In total, within the framework of the program, 110,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat have already been received by one of the most socially vulnerable countries in Africa – Ethiopia and Somalia.
