Grain from Izmail, burned by Russia, was brought to the OSCE session
At the Council of Ministers of the OSCE, samples of Ukrainian grain burned by Russia during attacks on the port infrastructure of Izmail were shown.
Ukraine’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Yevgeny Tsymbalyuk, showed burned Ukrainian grain at the OSCE meeting, Ukrinform reports.
Tsymbalyuk emphasized the need to ensure the inevitability of punishment for Russia for its crimes in Ukraine.
“In this small box I have with me five grains burned by Russia with the help of Iranian drones in Ishmael. Russia destroyed hundreds of thousands of tons of grain, thus depriving families around the world of the most necessary food. As Ukrainians in 1932-1933 during the Holodomor,” said the deputy representative.
He also recalled the Soviet “law of five spikes”, introduced in 1932. According to the document, Ukrainians were forbidden even to collect ears of corn left in the fields.
“A few grains, as in this box, were cause for severe punishment. Moscow has never been punished for such a terrible crime. And this encourages impunity. Now you can observe its consequences,” Tsymbalyuk commented.
The permanent representative of Ukraine added that the world needs “a vaccine against attempts to turn food into a weapon, including through the recognition of the Holodomor as an act of genocide.” The world should also create a Special Tribunal on the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
