Grain scheme: court takes suspects into custody in State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine case


The court took into custody three suspects in the case of the seizure of grain worth UAH 776 million in the state-owned State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. 

At the request of NABU detectives, agreed by the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine prosecutor, the investigating judges of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court applied preventive measures to three members of an organized criminal group involved in the seizure of grain from JSC “State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine”.

A preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to the former head of the department of JSC “State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine” with the alternative of posting a bail of UAH 3 million 328 thousand.

The court also took into custody the authorized person of the company representative and an accomplice with the alternative of posting a bail of UAH 19.9 million and UAH 5 million, respectively.

As a reminder, NABU and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office exposed a large-scale corruption scheme to seize grain from the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.
