How to check if a ship is under sanctions: instructions for sailors

The Ukrainian Maritime Trade Union told sailors how to check whether the vessel on which they have been offered a job is on the sanctions lists.

Before employment, it is important to check the vessel and the shipowner, the MTWTUU reminded in light of the cases of detention and arrest of vessels of the “shadow fleet”.

To do this, you can use the open international resource OpenSanctions, which allows you to check whether a vessel, company or related persons are under sanctions.
