Humenyuk: the Russian Federation is trying to prove that Ukraine is not capable of protecting the “grain” corridor
The occupiers are purposefully shelling the port infrastructure to show that Ukraine is allegedly unable to maintain the security of the Grain Agreement.
Along with the blackmail surrounding the Grain Initiative, the terrorist country again began attacking ports involved in the Agreement. So, on the night of July 11, the Russians attacked the port infrastructure of Odesa with drones.
In this way, the occupiers tried to prove that Ukraine is not capable of maintaining the security of the “grain” corridor, commented Nataliya Humenyuk, spokeswoman for the OC “Pivden”.
However, the air defense forces proved their efficiency and accuracy — the military destroyed 22 out of 24 drones.
“Two hits is a rather small ratio. The fact that the debris damaged part of the terminals and caught fire is not critical, and the fire was quickly contained,” Humenyuk said.
Previously, USM wrote that in the event of Russia’s withdrawal from the Grain Agreement, the Turkish Navy will escort ships with grain.
