Humenyuk: Ukraine will remain without any ports if it does not receive enough air defense systems

Ukraine may be left without ports in two to three months if Russia continues to attack the infrastructure and the partners do not provide appropriate weapons.

The Armed Forces do not have enough means to resist Russian attacks on its grain infrastructure, the head of the joint press center of OC”Pivden” Nataliya Humenyuk.

“We need anti-missile and anti-air defense. Reinforced, powerful, modern and capable of resisting the types of missiles that the enemy uses against us,” Le Monde quotes the spokeswoman.

Humenyuk emphasized that the Ukrainian military needs, in particular, American F-16 fighter jets capable of striking Russian weapons systems and ships used for shelling southern Ukraine.

While Ukraine already has Western defense systems, including the sophisticated American Patriot missile system, Russia “improves its tactics and does not stop” every time, Humenyuk explained.

She said that Moscow fires cruise, hypersonic and anti-ship missiles at the same time, when “the means of defense are dispersed” and everyone is “unable to confront this threat.”

The Russian army also resumed the blockade of Ukrainian ports after the collapse of the Grain Agreement.

“We may not have any more ports in two or three months,” the spokeswoman warned. – They (Russians – ed.) want to dominate the Black Sea. They want to have a grain monopoly. They want to remove Ukraine as a country capable of feeding the world.”
