In June, the cargo turnover of Ukrainian ports exceeded last year’s indicators

According to the results of June 2024, the leaders of transshipment were grain cargoes.

Thus, the cargo turnover of Ukrainian ports in June 2024 amounted to 7 million tons. This is 1.5 times higher than the indicators of 2023, reports the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

According to the results of June 2024, the leaders of freight forwarding became:

– grain cargoes: 4.4 million tons – against 3.4 million tons in 2023;

– ore cargoes: 1.2 million tons – against 0.2 million tons in 2023.

“90% of foreign trade goes through the ports of the Danube and the ports of Great Odesa. Today, the Danube ports export at the level of 1.5-1.3 million tons as a result of the unblocking of the Odesa ports, as well as the seasonal decline in export volumes,” emphasized Yuriy Lytvyn, head of USPA.

Cargo traffic through the sea corridor in June amounted to 5.6 million tons, of which 3.6 million tons were produced by Ukrainian farmers.

It should be noted that in half a year, the ports of Ukraine handled 53 million tons (31.2 million tons in 2023), handling 6,046 vessels.
