In Kyiv, a man illegally took possession of the ship “Bakkara Hotel” for 28 million

In Kyiv, the organizer of the scheme, who illegally took possession of the “Bakkara Hotel” vessel, was informed about the suspicion, causing the state losses of UAH 28 million.

The investigation established that the real estate was owned by a banking institution, Kyiv police reported.

Later, the bank decided to sell the vessel to a private company for UAH 28 million. According to the contract, the buyer first pays UAH 9.24 million, and the rest – UAH 18.76 million – by the specified deadline, after which he receives all the necessary legal documents.

At the same time, in connection with the liquidation of the banking institution, the ownership of the ship was transferred to the deposit guarantee fund of individuals, the proceeds of which were to be used to pay compensation to the depositors of the banking institution.

The head of the company, not intending to pay the rest of the amount, decided to reverse the scheme and fraudulently take over all the rights to the vessel. To do this, he turned to a number of state authorities with a package of forged documents, on the basis of which he was issued a certificate of ownership of the ship.

Kyiv police investigators informed the perpetrator of suspicion under part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code (fraud), he faces up to eight years in prison.

Earlier, USM reported that the SBU detained the captain of the vessel who was helping to export Ukrainian grain from Crimea.
