In Odesa, 37 rescue divers from several regions of Ukraine tested the latest equipment.
On February 29, 37 rescue divers from several regions of Ukraine trained at one of the Odesa beaches, “Dumska” reports.
Employees of the State Emergency Service from Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions tested the newest diving equipment for the first time. Only Odessans have it.
According to Maryna Martynenko, spokeswoman for the Odesa State Emergency Service, the rescuers completed the practical part of the certification.
“Once a year, Ukrainian divers undergo certification to confirm their qualifications. Such events are held in Ukraine only in a few places, last year we trained divers from Mykolaiv and Kherson, this year from Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia,” commented Martynenko.
Odessa divers also took part in the dives, practicing the skills of rescuing people, lifting objects from under water, etc.
“Our divers are preparing for post-war work, understanding exactly what tasks they will face. Now we are training as much as possible, knowing that it will be necessary to clean underwater objects after the end of the war,” the spokeswoman explained.
