In Odesa, two railwaymen were detained for stealing grain from wagons


In Izmail, the police detained two Ukrzaliznytsia track repairmen who were stealing grain from a freight car at night.

The perpetrators were discovered at one of the railway stations where grain was being loaded into wagons, writes ElevatoristElevatorist. They managed to collect 16 bags of grain and load them into their minibus.

The offenders, men aged 28 and 35, having conspired in advance, opened the hatch in the wagon with grain at night with the help of previously prepared tools and began to fill the bags with it.

“Evidence was seized from the men, and they themselves were placed under house arrest during the investigation. This crime is provided for in Part 3 of Art. 15, Part 4 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by imprisonment for five to eight years. The law enforcement officers sent the indictment to the court,” said Andrii Mashchenko, head of the investigative department of the Izmail Police Department.
