In Russia, take precautions because of the uncontrolled sale of grain

The export potential of grain from Russia at the beginning of the 2024/25 season was reduced due to uncontrolled sales.

Russia exported about 17 million tons of grain in the first quarter of the 2024/25 season, which significantly exceeds the permissible limits, reports “APK-Inform”.

According to the Union of Grain Exporters, in the 2023/24 season, exports exceeded 70 million tons for the first time thanks to “high harvests and leftovers from previous years.” However, the current export potential of the season is estimated at 60 million tons — 16% lower compared to the previous year.

A significant part of the grain must remain in Russia for domestic consumption, and the current rate of export needs to be controlled, because some companies and entrepreneurs export grain to third countries “literally for next to nothing”, hoping to get an increased quota. This harms farmers and the reputation of the terrorist country in the world market.

The Union of Grain Exporters plans to appeal to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia with a proposal to review the mechanism of distribution of export quotas for the second half of the season.

Earlier, USM reported that the Russian bulker had again loaded stolen grain in Sevastopol.
