In Russia, the launch of the terminal for the export of ammonia in the port of Taman was postponed
The launch of the first Russian sea terminal for the export of ammonia, which is being built in the port of Taman, has been postponed to the second quarter of 2024.
The reason for the postponement of the launch of the terminal was called “unforeseen factors”, writes CTS , quoting the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Yurin.
“Like many investment projects, there are, so to speak, unforeseen factors that affect the project. The project will definitely be launched, we see an interval somewhere in the second quarter of this year,” said the Russian official.
The second stage of the project envisages increasing the complex’s capacity to 3.5 million tons of ammonia and 1.5 million tons of urea per year by December 2025.
Before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the main export route for Russian ammonia was the Tolyatti-Odesa pipeline. An average of 2.5 million tons of ammonia per year was pumped through it.
As previously reported by USM, the Russian Federation planned that the terminal in the port of Taman on the Black Sea would start the first shipments in early 2024.
