In Russia, the port of Taman will suspend the export of LPG due to the danger of drones
Russia’s Taman port will suspend exports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) over fears of drone attacks.
Russia has suffered repeated drone attacks in recent weeks, including on Moscow, oil refineries in the south and a fuel depot near the Crimean Bridge, Reuters reports.
Railway operators of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan have already announced plans to limit cargo transportation to Taman, which accounts for about 7.5% of total Russian LPG exports.
Three sources with direct knowledge of the situation told Reuters that Taman would suspend processing of liquefied natural gas, also known as propane and butane, because of the explosive nature of the fuel. All sources spoke on condition of anonymity.
The informants did not specify when the port will stop processing LPG and noted that the existing gas reserves will be exported from the port first.
