In September, Russia already attacked Kernel assets on the Danube three times
The assets of the Kernel agricultural holding are increasingly damaged during Russian shelling. This undermines the export of agricultural products from Ukraine.
On September 2, the Russian Federation once again attacked the Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Danube, which is vital for the activities of Kernel’s subsidiaries, which export sunflower oil, “Interfax-Ukraine” reports.
According to the company’s announcement on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Russian drones have damaged many critical facilities. In particular, the following were affected:
• tanks for storing vegetable oil;
• equipment for transshipment (including pipelines);
• railway reception facilities;
• railway tanks awaiting unloading;
•administrative building.
“Kernel” clarified that they are currently assessing the full extent of the damage caused.
On September 3, Russia also attacked grain warehouses in the administration of the port operator in the Danube region. The operator provides important grain transshipment services to the agricultural holding.
As a result of the attack, two flat warehouses with a total capacity of 5 thousand tons were completely destroyed. Two more storage facilities of the same type have been damaged and are temporarily unusable for grain storage.
On September 6, there was another strike, which was aimed, in particular, at the assets of “Kernel” in the ports on the Danube. Fortunately, the attack did not cause significant damage to the infrastructure, although the operational activities of these assets were disrupted.
“These merciless airstrikes are seriously undermining the export of agricultural products from Ukraine,” the company said.
In August, the Kernel agricultural holding estimated the damage caused by Russia’s attack on the port infrastructure at $20 million.
