The conflict between sailors took place on a ship that was moored in one of the ports on the Danube.
The incident took place on a ship moored in the port of Izmail district. The skirmish between the sailors became known on May 9, according to the police of the Odesa region .
Thus, during a quarrel with a 30-year-old friend, a 45-year-old sailor stabbed him nine times in the stomach, chest and legs.
“The conflict between the men flared up because of another crew member whom the victim insulted and the attacker defended. Medics admitted the wounded man to a local hospital. The probable instrument of the crime and other material evidence were seized and sent for examination,” the police said.
A citizen of a foreign state was informed of the suspicion. The court chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention. For the crime committed, the man faces imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
