In the Dnipro fish are dying en masse due to shelling by the russians
Shelling by russian troops caused a mass death of fish in the Dnipro River.
The facts of the death of the fish were recorded in January, the State Fisheries Agency reported.
The fish died as a result of a significant decrease in the water level in the Kakhovsky Reservoir.
The decrease in water levels was caused by damage to the shut-off valves of the Kakhovskaya HPP as a result of Russian shelling. According to this fact, the relevant criminal proceedings were opened.
Shelling by russian federation on the coastal part of the city of Kherson and the Dnipro water area also led to the mass death of largemouth bass, as a result of which criminal proceedings were opened. In this case, the losses caused to the fishing industry are estimated to be more than 390 million hryvnias.
In other reservoirs of Ukraine, the phenomena of death and suffocation of fish were not recorded during January. The experts of the State Fisheries Agency continue to monitor the wintering of fish and their habitat.
