In the Odesa region, a customs officer was detained while receiving a bribe for unhindered clearance of goods.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In the Odesa region, an official of the customs post “Chornomorsk” was exposed, who received money from entrepreneurs for unhindered clearance of imported goods.

Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, he was detained while receiving another amount and was reported on suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation established that the head of the customs clearance department No. 6 of the Odesa customs received money for each container and promised to help reduce customs payments. Several facts of receiving illegal benefits in the amount of 2,900 US dollars were documented.
