In the Odesa region, the company director will be tried for fraud with a soybean cargo worth over UAH 5 million

Prosecutors from the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office have submitted an indictment against the director of a private enterprise to the court.
He is suspected of fraud on a particularly large scale (Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.
According to the investigation, the accused, working as the executive director of a company providing logistics services for the transshipment of agricultural products, concluded a contract with a foreign company for the supply of 6,000 tons of soybeans.
During January-February 2025, the man organized the illegal removal of part of the cargo from warehouses and subsequently appropriated the products. To hide the theft, he added more than 300 tons of sand resembling soybeans to the remains.
The total damage caused to the injured party exceeds UAH 5 million. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators from the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in the Odesa region.
USM previously reported that sand was being illegally mined on a special vessel: crew members face imprisonment.
