In the Odesa region, traffic was temporarily blocked on the highway connecting the ports of Great Odesa and the ports on the Danube

The Russians are attacking bridges on the way to ports in the south of the Odesa region to disrupt logistics and transport links towards the Danube.
According to the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Odesa region, as of the morning of December 19, there is a temporary closure of traffic on the M-15 Odesa – Reni (to Bucharest), through the village of Mayaki.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and ask drivers to refrain from traveling in this direction if possible. We will inform you about the resumption of traffic on this section of the road later.” — the department noted.
Earlier, the head of the Center for Radio Technologies Sergey Beskrestnov (“Flash”) reported in his Facebook post that the Russian Federation is trying to cut off the west of the Odessa region from transport routes by attacking bridges.
Thus, on December 14, the Russian army attacked the bridge in Zatoka with 40 Shahed kamikaze drones. The very next day, the expert noted, Russian troops launched attacks on the bridge in Mayaki — these attacks led to the closure of traffic on the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway section.
The expert assures that the attacks on the bridges have a strategic goal — to block transport routes and logistics in the western part of the Odesa region, in particular access to the Danube direction, which is important for transportation.
He also noted that in the event of serious damage to the bridges, it is possible to arrange ferry crossings, but such facilities remain vulnerable to repeated attacks by the Russian Federation.
We will remind, earlier the Service for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of the Odesa region allocated more than UAH 1.27 billion for large-scale projects, of which the main part of the funds was directed to the maintenance and repair of roads of national importance. In particular, UAH 179.5 million for the arrangement of vehicle parking lots on the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway.
