In Ukraine, a solution was found to unblock the Yagodin-Dorogusk check point
The Ministry of Infrastructure will temporarily not require permits from Polish carriers carrying out transportation to Ukraine from any EU country.
This decision is intended to resolve the situation with the blocking of the Yagodin-Dorogusk checkpoint by Polish carriers, the Ministry noted. Also, such a decision will satisfy one of the key demands of the strikers, namely, the imposition of fines for the lack of permits for transportation to Ukraine from third EU countries.
“Our position is unequivocal: such transportation does not fall under the Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on cargo transportation and is not bilateral, and accordingly requires permits. Currently, we have sent a letter to the European Commission regarding the provision of clarifications, and for the time being we are suspending the imposition of fines,” said Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov.
Thus, from May 8, Polish carriers will be able to carry out transportation from any country of the European Union to Ukraine without appropriate permits and requirements for environmental standards of vehicles.
“It is impossible to distribute cargo flow in conditions of limited capacity and blockade of sea ports. We are grateful to our Polish friends for their constant support in the confrontation with the aggressor and we count on further dialogue to unblock the border. We have taken the first step, we are waiting for the next step,” said Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach.
