In Ukraine, agricultural businesses are most often opened in Odesa, Kyiv, and Lviv regions, according to research


In recent years, for every closed agricultural company in Ukraine, 2.5 new ones have been opened.

This is evidenced by a study by the Opendatabot portal.

Thus, 8,644 agricultural companies have been registered in Ukraine since 2021. The most active year was 2021 – then 2,678 companies appeared.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the number of registrations decreased to 1,558. However, since 2023, the agricultural sector has revived: 1,697 new companies have appeared per year. 869 new agricultural enterprises have already been registered this year.

At the same time, 3,416 agricultural enterprises have closed from 2021 to 2025 in Ukraine.

The most active agribusiness was opened in the Odesa region – 612 new companies were registered. Kyiv (600), Lviv region (597), etc. are almost not far behind.

Over the past five years, 1,738 agricultural companies have changed their legal address and moved to other regions of Ukraine. Of these, 346 chose the western regions as a new place to do business.
