In Ukraine, customs launched a system for identifying sanctioned vessels

The State Customs Service of Ukraine has developed and implemented specialized software “Sanctions of Sea Vessels”, which allows customs authorities to identify sanctioned vessels.
This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
After signing the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 860/2025 of November 25, 2025, which for the first time in Ukraine imposed sanctions directly on sea vessels of the aggressor country for a period of 10 years, the State Customs Service of Ukraine has developed and implemented specialized software “Sanctions of Sea Vessels”.
“This allows customs authorities to promptly identify sanctioned objects and ensure control over their prevention of entry into the territory of the country. Previously, special restrictive measures were applied exclusively to individuals and legal entities,” the message says.
As of today, 56 sea vessels have already been included in the sanctions list. In the event of such a vessel entering the port, the customs office records its status and refuses customs clearance, which makes it impossible to unload or load it.
The customs office emphasized that this deterrence mechanism remains a key tool of international pressure on the aggressor state and its associates.
