In Ukraine, farmers will receive 100% compensation for land demining
The Cabinet of Ministers increased the amount of compensation for farmers who plan to clear land from 80% to 100%.
This is reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
In particular, those farmers who have a tax debt for the payment of land or a debt for the payment of a single tax will be able to participate in the program, if they are taxpayers of Group IV EP.
The Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko noted that the state fully covers the cost of humanitarian demining of agricultural lands for those agricultural producers who only plan to clear their plots.
“I understand that working in the conditions of shelling and complicated logistics, it is difficult to find additional funds to return to use several hundred hectares of land that is currently idle with mines. Therefore, the state will pay for such services, so that farmers who will participate in the program will be able to sow and harvest crops on cleared plots next season,” said First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko.
Auctions for the purchase of agricultural land demining services must take place exclusively at auctions in the Prozorro system with the participation of at least two participants.
As of now, farmers have submitted a total of 135 applications for the demining of 3,897 plots with a total area of over 17,200 hectares.
Participating in the compensation program can be done by farmers whose lands are located in the de-occupied territories, where, after a non-technical survey, contamination or probable contamination with explosive objects has been confirmed. The designated areas must be located outside the 20-kilometer zone from the line of combat or the state border.
As USM previously wrote, in May 2024 “Nibulon” passed certification for the use of machines for demining agricultural lands.
