Inspections of vessels in the Bosphorus have not yet been resumed

The Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul has still not resumed inspections within the “grain corridor” due to the actions of the Russians.

Since the beginning of June, the JCC has not carried out a single inspection of ships within the framework of the Grain Initiative, neither at the entrance to Ukrainian ports, nor at the exit, the UN  website states.

According to the center, after the resumption of the initiative on May 19, the JCC conducted only one exit inspection. On May 31, the ship Xin Shun, which was heading from the port of Odesa, left for China with 44 thousand tons of corn and 19.5 thousand tons of barley.

As for entry inspections, since May 19, 29 vessels have passed to the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk, of which 10 have already left in the return direction with a cargo of agricultural products: 6 — to China, 3 — to Spain, one — to Egypt.

From May 28 to 31, the number of entrance inspections was reduced to two per day. In June, these inspections stopped altogether.

The Russians actually blocked the Pivdennyi Port. For more than a month now, representatives of Russia in the SCC have not allowed the incoming fleet to the deepest Ukrainian port.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that more than 1.5 million tons of agricultural products are stored in the Port of Pivdennyi.
