Kernel plans to expand its fleet

Currently, two Kernel vessels export Ukrainian products, while the company is already working on increasing the fleet.

For the second year, the Kernel company operates its own ships and transports Ukrainian products, the company said on Facebook.

Ukrainian products are exported by the ships “Eneida” and “Mavka”. The deadweight of the “Eneida” bulk carrier is 47,335 tons, and the “Mavka” tanker is 13,500 tons.

“We do not plan to stop and are already working on expanding the fleet. This is of economic benefit to us during a period of inflated freight rates during martial law. The development of our own shipping provides an impetus for the entire market and strengthens the country’s export capabilities,” the company noted.

Kernel emphasized that the Black Sea remains an alternative for Ukrainian exports. So, deep-sea ports are able to store and ship large-tonnage shipments of more than 60,000 tons.

“This makes it possible to optimize logistics processes and significantly reduce costs. Currently, all alternative routes have extremely high logistics costs. We are strengthening Ukraine’s exports and contributing to food stability in Europe and the world,” the company concluded.

As previously reported to USM, Kernel is investing in the acquisition of logistics assets at the ports of Chornomorsk and Reni to improve the sustainability of the oil crops processing business.
