Kernel showed its third own vessel for the transportation of grain
Agroholding Kernel showed the third cargo ship purchased by the company for the transportation of grain cargoes.
The company purchased the vessel Rotterdam Pearl V, which is capable of exporting more than 50,000 tons of grain, the Kernel reported.
Now the fleet of the agricultural holding already includes three ships, which can export about 100,000 tons of grain and 20,000 tons of sunflower oil per month.
The company’s fleet has been providing Ukrainian exports to the Mediterranean and North-East Atlantic countries for more than a year and allows managing costs throughout the logistics chain. The development of own shipping, in particular, does not force tonnage to be fixed from the market, which is disadvantageous in the period of inflated freight rates during martial law, the Kernel noted.
As a reminder, in the 2023 fiscal year, Kernel bought two vessels. These are the Eneida bulk carrier with a carrying capacity of 44,000 tons of grain and the Mavka tanker with a carrying capacity of 12,500 tons of sunflower oil.
