Koval: Ukraine has almost returned to historical export routes via sea

Before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 94% of agricultural products were exported by sea, today – 90%.
This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitalii Koval.
In particular, the minister discussed areas of cooperation in the agricultural sector with the Austrian Government Coordinator of the Republic of Austria for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Wolfgang Anzengruber.
“The minister thanked the Austrian government and people for their constant support for Ukraine. In particular, for their assistance in demining agricultural lands and participation in the humanitarian initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Grain From Ukraine,” the report says.
Vitalii Koval and Wolfgang Anzengruber also discussed the following issues:
• trade with EU countries after the end of autonomous trade preferences on June 6, 2025 (according to various estimates, potential losses to the agricultural sector after the termination of ATM will range from $0.8 billion to $3.5 billion);
• support for Ukraine on the path of European integration;
• production of agricultural machinery;
• production and export of Ukrainian bioethanol to the EU;
• construction of vegetable storage facilities, potato storage facilities, and refrigeration plants.
The Minister also reported that Ukraine has almost returned to historical export routes via sea. Before the full-scale invasion, 94% of agricultural products were exported by sea, today – 90%.
