Kubrakov: the figures for the export of grain by sea and transit through Poland are incomparable

In January, the export of Ukrainian agricultural products took place mainly through the maritime corridor and amounted to 6.7 million tons. Instead, only 0.37 million tons passed through the territory of Poland in transit.

This was announced by the Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, Oleksandr Kubrakov, during a teleconference.

According to him, in January, the export of agricultural products took place mainly thanks to sea transportation and amounted to 6.7 million tons. Instead, only 0.37 million tons of agricultural products passed through the territory of Poland in transit, which is about 5% of the total volume.

“At the same time, through the territory of Poland in 2022, we exported up to 1 million tons of agricultural products per month. This shows that the statements of Polish agricultural associations regarding the oversaturation of their market are unfair. For its part, Ukraine is doing everything possible to minimize any possible economic losses of Polish farmers,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov.

According to him, dialogue is conducted at all levels. The day before, urgent talks were held with Jacek Severa, head of the National Security Bureau of Poland, regarding the inadmissibility of blocking the border, in particular, passenger transport.

The minister also noted that the blockade plays into the hands of Russia, which is already using it.

As previously reported by USM, in Dorogusk (Poland), on the border with Ukraine, protesters dumped grain from Ukrainian trucks on the road.
