Kyslytsia: exports from the ports of Great Odesa reached pre-war levels

Ukrainian exports from Black Sea ports reached pre-war levels.

After Russia’s withdrawal from the Grain Agreement in the summer of 2023, 1,300 vessels used the temporary route created by Ukraine and its partners, Serhii Kyslytsia, Ukraine’s ambassador to the UN, said, Ukrinform reports.

According to the post-predator, Ukrainian agricultural products are delivered to 40 countries of the world via an alternative sea corridor.

“This exceeds the volume of exports for the entire year of operation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative,” Kyslytsia noted. He added that a total of 25 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products were exported from the ports of “Pivdennyi”, “Odesa” and “Chornomorsk”, and explained that exports from these ports reached the pre-war level.

“We are consistently working on increasing the capacity of all corridors,” the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN emphasized.

He reminded that about 400 million people in the world depend on Ukrainian food exports. Even in times of war, Ukraine is ready to defend its role as a guarantor of global food security, as illustrated by the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program.

To date, within the framework of this initiative, 8 ships with more than 200,000 tons of grain have been sent to Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Yemen, Nigeria and Sudan.

Kyslytsia noted that the end of the Russian occupation and missile attacks on Ukrainian ports and infrastructure will increase the supply of food to the world market, which will contribute to the strengthening of global food security.
